Sony VPL-CX3 LMPC121 projector lamp

This new replacement lamp module is built for Sony VPL-CX3 projectors. It arrives as a complete assembly with the Philips UHP bulb already seated in the housing. The unit is intended for owners who need a direct swap without sourcing separate components.

120W Philips UHP bulb

The lamp draws 120W and uses a Philips UHP light source. Rated lifetime is 2000 hours in normal mode and 3000 hours in economy mode. Matching this wattage and lamp type is the critical factor for correct projector operation.

Pre-assembled housing enables tool-free installation

The bulb comes factory-fitted inside the housing, so installation typically requires only opening the projector lamp door and sliding the module into place. Common issues arise when the lamp timer is not reset after replacement or when the door interlock is not fully engaged.

Questions about this item

What does the 120 W rating mean for brightness and heat in my Sony VPL-CX3?

The 120 W Philips UHP bulb delivers the original light output for the VPL-CX3, so image brightness matches the factory specification and the projector’s cooling system handles the heat exactly as designed.

Which lamp interface does the LMPC121 use and what does it limit?

The module uses the proprietary Sony LMPC121 connector, which locks the lamp to VPL-CX3 series projectors and prevents use in any other model.

What physical space and mounting points does this lamp module need?

The assembled bulb-and-housing unit fits directly into the VPL-CX3 lamp cage, aligning with the original screw holes and latch for a tool-free swap.
