Genuine replacement lamp module

The Sony VPL-CX3 LMPC121 projector lamp delivers a new 120W UHP bulb pre-assembled in its housing for direct installation. It restores original brightness to compatible Sony projectors without additional alignment steps. The module is manufactured to ISO9001 quality standards using OEM-grade components from Philips, Osram, Ushio, Phoenix, Iwasaki or Matsushita.

Rated output and service life

The 120W lamp runs at its specified power draw and provides 2000 hours of operation in normal mode or 3000 hours in economy mode. Economy mode reduces light output to extend the interval between replacements. No separate cooling or power-supply data is provided for this module.

Pre-assembled housing and quality checks

The bulb ships already seated in its housing, so the installer only needs to swap the complete module. Each unit passes beam performance, ignition, voltage, appearance, connection and run-time tests before dispatch. Buyers who need bare bulbs for custom housings or who require a different wattage should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

How do I install the Sony VPL-CX3 LMPC121 lamp module and which step is often missed?

Power off and unplug the projector, let it cool completely, remove the lamp cover screw, pull out the old module by its handle, insert the new LMPC121 housing until it clicks firmly, replace the cover screw, then reset the lamp timer in the menu so the 2,000-hour counter starts from zero.

What maintenance or replacement will the LMPC121 lamp need over time?

The UHP 120W bulb is rated for 2,000 hours in normal mode or 3,000 hours in economy mode; when brightness drops or the replacement indicator appears, purchase a new LMPC121 module and swap the entire housing again.

What limit appears first during extended use of the LMPC121 lamp?

After 2,000 hours at full 120W output the bulb reaches its rated normal-mode lifespan, so brightness loss or a projector warning will arrive before any other component wears out.
