A ready-to-install 190W replacement lamp module with a new Philips UHP bulb, rated for 2,000 normal or 3,000 economy hours
This 190 W projector lamp module includes a new Philips UHP bulb pre-assembled in its housing. It is designed for owners of the Sony VPL-EX7 projector who need a direct replacement when the original lamp reaches end of life. The unit arrives ready to fit without additional tools or separate bulb handling.
Rated life is 2,000 hours in normal mode and 3,000 hours in economy mode. Brightness will gradually decline as hours accumulate and economy mode reduces output to extend the interval between replacements. The lamp cannot exceed these rated figures and contains no user-serviceable components to restore performance.
The pre-assembled housing allows straightforward insertion into the projector lamp compartment. Most installation problems come from failing to reset the projector lamp timer after fitting the new module, which leaves the replacement warning active. Forcing the connector or skipping the timer reset are the typical causes of a non-starting projector.

All four versions use a genuine 190 W Philips UHP bulb in a ready-to-install housing; the original Philips OEM matches the factory lamp exactly, the Sony-sold OEM is the same bulb under Sony branding, the alternative OEM swaps the bulb maker while keeping specifications, and the compatible uses OEM-grade parts at a lower cost.
The 190 W Philips UHP bulb delivers the light output the VPL-EX7 was designed for, so image brightness matches the original specification and the projector’s existing cooling handles the thermal load without modification.
The lamp plugs directly into the VPL-EX7’s proprietary connector and ballast, so installation is tool-free; rated life is 2,000 hours in normal mode or 3,000 hours in economy mode before replacement is recommended.
