6.95" anti-glare touchscreen receiver

The Sony XAV-AX3700 is a 2-DIN digital multimedia receiver with a 6.95-inch anti-glare touchscreen. It supports wired Apple CarPlay for iPhone integration and includes Bluetooth connectivity. The unit delivers a maximum power output of 55W and features a 14-band graphic equalizer for audio tuning.

Drivers wanting CarPlay and camera input

This receiver suits motorists who want wired Apple CarPlay, a back-up camera input and steering wheel control compatibility. It also plays FLAC, ALAC and DSF files via USB. Buyers who need wireless CarPlay or Android Auto should look elsewhere, as the specifications list only wired Apple CarPlay.

Standard 2-DIN install with wiring harness

Installation follows a typical double-DIN dashboard opening and requires a vehicle-specific wiring harness and antenna adapter. The 800x480 screen resolution is fixed, so visibility in direct sunlight depends on the anti-glare coating. Incorrect harness wiring is the most common issue, often causing loss of steering wheel controls or camera trigger signals.

Questions about this item

Will this 6.95" receiver fit my dashboard without a 2-DIN opening?

The chassis is a single-DIN unit with a floating 6.95-inch touchscreen, so it installs in a standard 1-DIN slot rather than a double-DIN aperture.

Can I keep my factory steering wheel buttons with this Sony XAV-AX3700?

Yes, the unit supports steering wheel control compatibility; an appropriate vehicle-specific adapter lets the original buttons operate volume, track and source functions.

How can I confirm the 14-band EQ and time alignment are active after installation?

Open the audio settings menu on the 800x480 touchscreen — the 14-band graphic equalizer sliders and time alignment distance values will be adjustable and audible immediately.
