77-Inch QD-OLED Smart Google TV

The Sony XR77A95L is a 2023 QD-OLED television with a 77-inch screen and 4K resolution at 120Hz. It runs Google TV with the Cognitive Processor XR for AI upscaling and picture optimization. The set is built for viewers who want self-illuminating pixels, pure blacks, and wide color volume in a large-format living-room display. Buyers needing a smaller screen or a non-OLED panel should look elsewhere.

QD-OLED Panel With 120Hz Refresh

The 77-inch panel delivers 3840 x 2160 resolution at 120Hz with a 16:9 aspect ratio. QD-OLED technology combines self-illuminating pixels with quantum-dot color for high brightness and an expansive palette. XR Triluminos Max and XR OLED Contrast Pro extend color volume and black performance. XR Clear Image and XR OLED Motion reduce noise and blur. The 8.5 ms response time supports fast motion, though competitive gamers seeking lower latency may need a dedicated monitor.

Bundled Austere VII Surge Protector And BRAVIA CAM

The included Austere VII Series 4-outlet power unit provides 3500J surge protection with Type III PureFiltration and isolated outlet filtration to suppress EMI/RFI. Flameless MOV protection guards against fire risk from powerful spikes. The BRAVIA CAM enables ambient optimization, gesture control, and video chat. A voice remote, multi-position stand, and integrated cable management complete the accessories. Users requiring more than four protected outlets or a different mounting pattern must buy separately.

Questions about this item

Will the 120 Hz HDMI 2.1 ports on the XR77A95L work with my current AV receiver that only has HDMI 2.0?

Yes — the four HDMI inputs are backward compatible, so a 2.0 receiver will pass 4K 60 Hz and audio normally; you simply won’t get the 4K 120 Hz, VRR or ALLM features that require 2.1 on both ends.

How can I verify the Cognitive Processor XR is upscaling correctly after I set up the TV?

Play a 1080p source, open the picture menu and confirm “XR 4K Upscaling” and “XR Clear Image” are both set to On; the on-screen demo loop then shows a side-by-side comparison so you can see the upscaling effect in real time.

Does the box include the Austere VII Series power unit and the BRAVIA CAM, or must I buy them separately?

Both are included — the Austere 7S-PS4-US1 four-outlet surge protector with 3500 J PureFiltration and the BRAVIA CAM ship in the same carton as the 77" QD-OLED panel, the multi-position stand, voice remote and cables.
