Sony XR77A95L QD-OLED 77 Inch 4K Smart TV

The Sony XR77A95L is a 2023 QD-OLED television with a 77 inch screen and 4K resolution. It uses the Cognitive Processor XR to drive self-illuminating pixels for pure blacks and high colour volume. The set runs Google TV and includes the BRAVIA CORE app, a multi-position stand and a BRAVIA CAM. An Austere 2.5m 8K HDMI cable with Kevlar reinforcement is supplied in the box.

Home cinema viewers wanting wide colour

This TV suits viewers who want a large QD-OLED panel with 120Hz refresh rate, VRR and ALLM for console gaming. It also fits installers needing a 300x300 VESA mount and integrated cable management. Buyers who need a smaller screen size or a lower peak brightness panel should look at other models. The fixed 60W 2.2 speaker system may not replace a dedicated surround setup.

120Hz QD-OLED panel with Cognitive Processor XR

The single specification that decides fit is the 77 inch QD-OLED panel running at 120Hz with the Cognitive Processor XR. This combination delivers 4K 120Hz gaming, XR Triluminos Max colour and XR OLED Contrast Pro in one display. If the screen size, refresh rate or processor do not match the installation requirements, the television will not suit the project.

Questions about this item

How do I mount the 77" QD-OLED TV on a wall and what step is often missed?

Use the 300x300 VESA pattern with compatible hardware; the step often missed is routing cables through the integrated management channels before securing the display.

What maintenance will the Acoustic Surface Audio Plus panel and 60W speaker system need over time?

No user-serviceable parts inside; keep ventilation clear, dust the screen gently with a microfibre cloth, and install firmware updates via Google TV for audio tuning improvements.

What limit appears first during extended 4K 120Hz gaming sessions on this 2023 model?

The 8.5 ms response time and XR OLED Motion processing handle motion well; the first practical limit is the panel's automatic brightness limiter (ABL) which reduces peak luminance in sustained full-screen HDR scenes to protect the QD-OLED pixels.
