CS210-8FP 8-port managed PoE switch

The Sophos CS210-8FP is a Layer 2 managed switch with eight RJ45 ports and four SFP uplink ports. It delivers up to 10 Gbps on uplinks and 2.5 Gbps on RJ45 ports. A 240 W PoE budget powers cameras, phones and access points. Rackmount format suits branch offices, retail and SMB networks.

Installation and common issues

The unit mounts in a standard rack and uses an external DC adapter for 100-240 VAC input. Two smart fans adjust speed automatically. PoE ports 1 to 8 support 802.3af/at with up to 8 devices at 15.4 W, 8 at 30 W or 4 at 60 W. SFP modules for 1G or 10G and 5 m DAC cables are required for uplinks but are not included.

Sustained-load behaviour

Idle power is 10.14 W and typical maximum is 292.2 W with full PoE load. Smart fans increase airflow as temperature rises to keep components within limits. The switch supports up to 256 simultaneous VLANs out of 4096 IDs for traffic segmentation.
