What this cable does and who needs it

This 16.5ft USB-C to USB-C cable delivers 20Gbps data transfer and 100W Power Delivery charging for laptops, tablets and phones with a USB-C port. The built-in E-Marker chip negotiates up to 20V/5A safely with compatible adapters. Nylon braiding and a 20000-cycle bend rating suit daily carry and desk use. It is not for users who need Thunderbolt 40Gbps bandwidth or active optical lengths beyond 16.5ft.

Thermals noise and power in normal use

Passive copper construction means no fan noise and no extra heat beyond the devices themselves. The E-Marker chip prevents overcurrent and overheating during 100W PD charging sessions. Power draw matches the attached charger up to 96W, 87W, 61W, 30W, 18W or 15W profiles. No active cooling or external power is required at any point.

What it replaces and when the jump matters

Replaces shorter or lower-rated USB-C cables limited to 5Gbps or 60W charging. The 16.5ft reach lets you power a MacBook Pro 16'' or charge a Quest 2 across a room without an extension cord. The step up is worth it when you need simultaneous 4K@60Hz video output and 100W charging on a single run. It will not replace a Thunderbolt 3 cable for 40Gbps workloads.

Questions about this item

How do I connect the 16.5ft cable to my MacBook Pro and what step is often missed?

Plug both USB-C ends into host and device; the step often missed is confirming the host port supports DP ALT Mode for 4K@60Hz video.

What maintenance or replacement will the nylon braided cable need over time?

Rated for 20000+ 90-degree bend cycles; inspect connectors for debris and replace if fraying appears near the strain relief.

What limit appears first during sustained 100W charging or 20Gbps transfers?

The 5A current ceiling of the E-Marker chip caps power at 100W; thermal throttling may reduce sustained 20Gbps throughput.
