Strips 24 to 18 AWG coaxial cable with a spring-loaded, ergonomic plastic handle
The Southwire cable stripper handles coaxial cables from 24 to 18 AWG. Its spring-loaded mechanism performs strip-only operations without adjustment. The ergonomic plastic handle fits electricians and installers who need a lightweight hand tool for repetitive wiring tasks. It is not suited for users who require cutting, crimping or tethering functions.
As a manual hand tool the stripper produces no heat, no audible noise and draws no electrical power during normal use. Operation relies entirely on hand force applied through the spring-loaded jaws. There are no motors, batteries or electronic components to generate thermal or acoustic output.
This model replaces fixed-blade or non-spring strippers that lack ergonomic handles. The jump is worthwhile when technicians strip coaxial cable daily and want reduced hand fatigue from the spring return and contoured grip. It does not serve buyers who need adjustable depth settings or multi-function stripping for other cable types.

Open the ergonomic plastic handles, insert the coaxial cable into the fixed stripping cavity, then squeeze firmly; the spring-loaded action strips automatically — the mistake is forcing the cable sideways instead of feeding it straight in.
The internal spring-loaded stripping blades dull after repeated 24-18 AWG use; when the jacket slips instead of cutting cleanly or you see frayed strands, the tool must be replaced.
The fixed 4 51/64 in length and non-adjustable, spring-loaded mechanism concentrate force on the plastic handles, so extended sessions cause grip fatigue faster than on longer, ratcheting models.
