SOUTHWIRE COMPANY 68944801 Metal Clad 12 AWG 2 Conductor wire cap connector

SKU CH-N7Z2-0T06F

Metal-clad 12 AWG armored cable with two conductors plus ground in a 250 ft coil

  • Metal-clad armor protects conductors from physical damage
  • 12 AWG solid copper handles 600 V circuits reliably
  • 2 insulated conductors plus ground simplify branch wiring
  • PVC insulation rated to 194 °F withstands heat
  • 250 ft coil reduces splices on long runs

12 AWG Metal Clad Cable

This 12 AWG metal-clad cable carries two insulated conductors plus a ground wire inside an aluminum armor jacket. It is supplied in a 250 ft coil for branch-circuit wiring in residential or light-commercial projects.

600 V Rating and Temperature Limit

The PVC-insulated conductors are rated for 600 V and a maximum operating temperature of 194 degrees F. The aluminum jacket provides mechanical protection but is not a substitute for conduit where code requires additional physical shielding.

Coil Handling and Installation Notes

The coiled format keeps the 0.475 in diameter cable manageable during pulls, though the armor adds stiffness compared to non-metallic sheath cable. Installers must use listed connectors rated for metal-clad cable and ensure the grounding conductor is properly bonded at each termination.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 250 ft coil or a shorter length for my project?

The product is supplied as a single 250 ft coil; no alternative lengths are offered for this model.

What does the 600 V rating mean when the cable is installed in a circuit?

It indicates the maximum voltage the insulation is designed to withstand continuously in a properly protected circuit.

How does the metal clad jacket affect the cable's use compared to non‑metallic sheathed cable?

The aluminum armor provides physical protection and serves as an equipment grounding path, allowing installation in exposed or hazardous locations where NM cable is not permitted.
