Lavalier Mic for AKG PT and DPT Systems

This lavalier microphone connects to AKG wireless bodypack transmitters including the PT 400, PT 450, PT 470, PT 200, PT 4000, PT 4500, DPT 70, DPT 700, PT 40, PT 45, PT 60, PT 61, PT 80 and PT 81. It uses a unidirectional condenser cartridge with a sensitivity of -32 decibels and an impedance of 50 ohm. The signal-to-noise ratio reaches 92 decibels. It suits presenters, performers and streamers who need a discreet clip-on mic for compatible AKG packs.

XLR Connector and Cable Limits

The microphone terminates in an XLR plug designed for the bodypack input. A 1 metre or 3.3 foot cable provides the working distance from the transmitter. Triple-layer shielding is claimed to eliminate 95 percent of electromagnetic interference from phones and lighting rigs. The oxygen-free copper core cable is rated for over 10,000 bend tests. No battery is required for operation.

Upgrades Worn or Missing Original Lavaliers

This unit replaces a lost, damaged or worn lavalier for the listed AKG systems. The aluminium housing and reinforced strain relief aim to improve durability over older cables. The included foam windscreen adds protection against moisture, dust and fabric rustling. Buyers needing a different connector type or a microphone for non-AKG wireless systems should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Which AKG transmitter models does this lavalier microphone support?

It works with AKG PT 400, PT 450, PT 470, PT 200, PT 4000, PT 4500, DPT 70, DPT 700, PT 40, PT 45, PT 60, PT 61, PT 80 and PT 81 wireless bodypack systems.

What does the -32 dB sensitivity mean when the mic is clipped on a speaker?

The -32 dB sensitivity gives a strong output level from quiet speech, so the transmitter gain can stay low and hiss stays minimal during presentations or streams.

How does the XLR connector affect the signal chain with these bodypacks?

The XLR plug connects directly to compatible AKG transmitters, providing a balanced link that the triple-layer shielding protects from electromagnetic interference.
