Pressure Switch for Water and Air Systems

The Square D 9013GS pressure switch controls water pumps and air compressors with a factory on/off setting of 50/30 psi. It uses a DPST contact form rated at 10A and operates on a single 1/4 in FNPS port. The differential range spans 15 to 30 psi within an overall range of 5 to 80 psi.

Simple Port Connection and Wiring

Installation centres on connecting the single 1/4 in FNPS port to the system and wiring the DPST contacts to the motor circuit. The switch carries NEMA 1 rating for indoor use only. A common issue is applying it outdoors or in wet locations where the enclosure is not rated. Reverse action means contacts open on rising pressure, which can be confused with direct-acting models.

Check Voltage, Phase and Horsepower Limits

Before ordering, verify the supply voltage and phase match the horsepower ratings: 2 hp at 120V single-phase, 3 hp at 240V single-phase, and 5 hp at 240V or 480V three-phase. The switch has no unloader valve, so systems requiring one need a separate component. Confirm the 50/30 psi factory settings suit the application or that the adjustable range covers the required cut-in and cut-out pressures.
