Three-pole molded case circuit breaker rated 250 A with thermal-magnetic trip and 100 kA interrupting capacity at 240 V AC
The SQUARE D JJL36250M75 is a moulded-case motor circuit protector rated at 250 A and 600 V AC with a 100 kA interrupting rating at 240 V AC. It uses a thermal-magnetic instantaneous trip unit and is built on the 250 A JJ frame for three-phase industrial power distribution.
Confirm the panel accepts a free-standing mounting style and that line and load lug terminals suit your conductor size. The fixed low trip point is 684 A and the high trip point is 500 A, so the motor inrush current must fall within that window. Ensure the system voltage does not exceed 600 V AC or 250 V DC and that three-pole ABC phasing matches your busbar arrangement.
As a passive protection device the breaker generates negligible acoustic noise and its own heat dissipation is minimal during normal operation. The thermal-magnetic mechanism trips instantly on short-circuit currents up to 100 kA at 240 V AC without requiring an external power source. Mount the unit with adequate ventilation space around the 7.52 in height to maintain rated performance.

The breaker includes line/load lug terminals as its standard connection method, so no separate lug kit is required for typical installation.
This model is a motor circuit protector with fixed instantaneous trip; the high setting is 2,500 A and the low setting is 684 A, and no alternative trip curves are offered for the 250 A JJ frame.
At 240 V AC the breaker can safely interrupt up to 100 kA; at the rated 600 V AC the interrupting capacity will be lower, so verify the panel’s available fault current against the breaker’s 600 V rating before applying it.
