Application fit

The Square D QO115EPD is a 15 A, single-pole plug-in breaker that provides 30 mA ground-fault equipment protection on 120 V AC circuits. It is intended for installers and facility managers who need personnel-level ground-fault detection on branch circuits fed from compatible QO or NQ load centres. It is not suited for applications that require standard overcurrent protection without ground-fault sensing or for panels that do not accept the QO plug-in form factor.

Interface limits

The breaker mounts by plugging directly into Square D QO or NQ panelboards, using a pressure-plate terminal for the load conductor. Its interrupting rating is 10 kA at 120 V AC, so it must only be installed where the available fault current does not exceed that value. The device also carries a 48 V DC rating, but the ground-fault function is specified for AC use. No other mounting styles or panelboard series are supported.

Capacity and headroom

The 15 A thermal rating sets the continuous load limit for the protected circuit, while the 30 mA trip threshold defines the ground-fault sensitivity. The 100 A frame size indicates the physical envelope within the QO lineup, not the circuit capacity. Headroom ends at the 15 A handle rating or the 10 kA interrupting ceiling, whichever is reached first in a given installation.
