A 30 A two-pole ground-fault circuit interrupter rated 120/240 V AC and 48 V DC with a 10 kA interrupting rating for QO load centres
This Square D QO230GFI is a Class A ground-fault circuit interrupter rated at 30 amps and 120/240 V AC. It trips at a 5 mA leakage threshold to protect people from shock hazards. The two-pole design suits branch circuits that need both legs of a split-phase supply. It fits QO and NQ load centres using a plug-in mounting style.
The breaker carries a maximum AIR rating of 10 kA at 120/240 V AC, which defines the highest prospective fault current it can safely clear. It is also rated for 48 V DC, allowing use on certain low-voltage DC circuits. The 100 A frame size sets the physical envelope for the device within the panel. No other voltage or interrupting ratings apply to this model.
A plug-in mounting style lets the breaker snap onto the panel bus without bolts, speeding installation and removal. Pressure-plate terminals accept conductors directly, securing them with a screw-down plate rather than a lug. The paddle actuator provides a clear visual indication of the on, off, or tripped position. The 4.1 in length determines the slot space required in the load centre.

Choose the 30 A two-pole model when the branch circuit is rated for 30 A; other QO breakers carry different amp ratings and pole counts, so match the breaker to the circuit design.
It trips the breaker when leakage to ground exceeds 5 mA, providing personnel-level shock protection on the protected 120/240 V circuit.
The breaker safely interrupts up to 10 kA at 120/240 V AC; the panel’s own short-circuit rating must be equal to or higher than that value.
