Protects high-intensity discharge lighting circuits at 20 A with a 10 kA interrupting rating, bolting into Square D QO load centres
The Square D QOB120HID is a single-pole miniature circuit breaker rated at 20 amps for 120/240 V AC and 48 V DC systems. It mounts by bolting onto compatible QO-series panelboards and load centres. The paddle actuator provides clear on/off indication. This breaker suits residential and light-commercial panels that require a bolt-on format.
The HID designation means the breaker is tested for the high inrush currents of HID lighting circuits without nuisance tripping. It carries a 10 kA interrupting rating at 120/240 V AC, providing adequate short-circuit protection for typical branch circuits. The 100 A frame size sets the physical envelope, but the 20 A trip unit limits continuous load to that value. Circuits with sustained loads above 20 A or fault currents exceeding 10 kA need a different device.
The breaker installs only in Square D NQOD panelboards and QO-series load centres that accept bolt-on QOB frames. The pressure-plate terminals accept standard copper conductors. Builders using plug-on QO panels or other manufacturers' enclosures cannot use this unit. Verify the panelboard series before purchase.

| Brand name | SQUARE D |
Yes, it mounts bolt-on and is compatible with Square D QO and NQOD panelboards.
The paddle actuator provides clear on/off/trip positions; a successful reset after a fault confirms proper operation.
The breaker uses pressure-plate terminals and bolt-on mounting; hardware and lugs are supplied with the panelboard, not the breaker.
