Auxiliary switch for PowerPact H and J circuit breakers, rated 6 A and compatible with frame sizes from 150 A to 3000 A, CSA certified, IEC, NEMA and UL listed
The SQUARE D S29450 auxiliary switch fits PowerPact H and J circuit breakers across frame ratings of 150, 250, 600, 800, 1200 and 3000 amperes. It carries a 6 ampere contact rating for control circuits. The device is UL listed, CSA certified and meets IEC and NEMA standards.
Electricians who need a dry contact to signal breaker position to a PLC, alarm panel or building management system will use this switch. It mounts inside the breaker accessory cavity without increasing the footprint. Buyers who require a higher contact ampacity or a different voltage class must select another accessory.
The defining specification is the 6 A switching capacity on the auxiliary contacts. This value determines whether the switch can directly drive the coils, indicators or logic inputs in your control scheme. Verify that the load you intend to switch stays within this limit before specifying the part.

Mount the switch inside the breaker accessory cavity and secure the terminal screws; the step often missed is verifying the breaker is fully de-energised before wiring the 6 A contacts.
Periodically inspect the contact tips for erosion or carbon build-up and re-torque the terminal screws; replace the switch if contact resistance rises or the mechanism fails to toggle cleanly.
The 6 A contact rating is the primary limit; sustained current above 6 A will cause overheating and contact degradation before any frame-size constraint (150, 250, 600, 800, 1200, 3000 A) becomes relevant.
