1 TB portable SSD with USB 3.2 Gen 2

This 1 TB external solid-state drive connects through a USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface and reaches 550 MB/s read and 520 MB/s write speeds. A USB-C adapter is included so the stick works with both Type-A and Type-C ports on laptops, smartphones and tablets. The zinc-alloy body resists drops, water and dust while dissipating heat during long transfers. Plug-and-play operation requires no extra software.

For mobile creators and everyday backup

Photographers, videographers and professionals who move large media libraries between devices will benefit from the sustained 550 MB/s throughput and the compact, rugged design. The bundled Type-C adapter covers modern MacBook, iPad Pro and Android gear without extra dongles. Buyers who need more than 1 TB of capacity or who require an internal drive form factor should consider other options.

USB 3.2 Gen 2 550 MB/s sequential read

The single specification that decides fit is the 550 MB/s sequential read speed delivered over USB 3.2 Gen 2. If your workflow demands higher sustained bandwidth or an internal M.2 connection, this portable stick will not match those requirements. For external file shuttle and backup at this speed class, the drive meets the stated performance.

Questions about this item

Which port must my device provide to reach the 550 MB/s read speed?

The drive needs a USB 3.2 Gen2 port to deliver up to 550 MB/s read and 520 MB/s write.

Will the included Type-C adapter let me use this drive with a MacBook Pro 13.3" from 2016?

Yes, the supplied adapter makes the USB-A drive compatible with that MacBook Pro and other USB-C devices.

How can I confirm the drive is performing at the advertised speeds after setup?

Copy a 2 GB 4K video file; the transfer should finish in roughly 5 seconds if the drive is running at full speed.
