Staples 23942 Beaded Wrist Rest

The Staples 23942 wrist rest uses poly beads inside a black cloth cover to lift the wrists while typing. Its non-skid base keeps the cushion from sliding on the desk. The compact size suits tight workspaces or laptop use. Sold as a single unit.

Upgrade from flat desk or foam pads

Bead filling conforms to the wrist shape rather than compressing flat like basic foam. The change is worth it when long typing sessions cause contact pressure on the heel of the hand. Users who prefer a firm, uniform surface may find the shifting beads less stable.

Limits of bead-filled cloth design

Poly beads can migrate over time, creating thin spots that reduce support height. Cloth surfaces absorb skin oils and are harder to wipe clean than coated fabrics. The 6.5-inch length covers only the keyboard home row, leaving mouse-hand unsupported. No height adjustment is possible.

Questions about this item

How much desk space does the 6.5 in x 2.64 in footprint need?

The wrist rest measures 6.5 inches long by 2.64 inches wide, so it fits in front of most standard keyboards without crowding the mouse area.

What is the correct orientation for the non-skid base during setup?

Place the poly-bead-filled cushion with the cloth side up and the natural non-skid base flat on the desk; the base must contact the surface to stop the rest from sliding.

Can the poly beads inside the 1.3 in thick cushion be refreshed if they flatten over time?

The bead filling is sealed inside the cloth cover and is not user-serviceable; if the cushion loses loft the whole unit would need replacement.
