Cash Drawer Configuration

The Star Micronics 37968060 is a Choice Series cash drawer finished in black. It provides five bill compartments and eight coin compartments for daily till management. Two media slots hold cheques or vouchers alongside the main currency sections.

Printer-Driven Integration

This unit suits retailers whose receipt printer supplies a drawer-kick signal via an RJ connector. It will not operate with USB-only, serial-only or network-triggered cash-drawer ports unless an adapter is sourced separately.

Five Bill and Eight Coin Layout

The fixed till insert divides the interior into five note slots and eight coin cups. Businesses requiring more bill denominations, fewer coin cups or a removable insert should consider a different tray configuration.

Questions about this item

Will the 5-bill and 8-coin tray need replacement after heavy daily use?

The tray is a fixed metal insert; only the removable bill weights and coin dividers wear out and can be swapped without tools.

What limits continuous operation on the printer-driven interface?

The drawer fires only when the receipt printer sends a pulse, so sustained speed is capped by the printer’s own duty cycle.

Does the unit generate heat or noise when left powered all day?

No internal power supply or fan means it stays silent and at room temperature until the printer trigger fires.
