Compact eight-in-one USB-C dock

The StarTech 120B-USBC-MULTIPORT adds dual HDMI video, two USB-A ports, gigabit Ethernet and card readers through a single USB-C connection. It suits mobile professionals who need a lightweight travel dock for hot-desking or presentations.

Space-grey aluminium housing with 30 cm tether

The 0.60" x 5.70" x 2.30" enclosure weighs 5.80 oz and fits in a laptop sleeve. A fixed 30 cm host cable reduces strain on the port while the USB-C PD input accepts up to 100 W pass-through with 15 W reserved for the hub.

Check host video and power capabilities

Dual 4K 60 Hz requires DP 1.4 with DSC and MST support on the host GPU; otherwise the dock falls back to 4K 30 Hz. The USB-C port must provide video alt mode and at least 7.5 W for BC 1.2 fast charging on one USB-A port.

Questions about this item

What dual-HDMI resolution does the USB-C 5Gbps host link actually cap at?

The dock supports dual 4K 60Hz over HDMI 2.0b when the host provides DP 1.4 with DSC; with DP 1.2 it falls back to dual 4K 30Hz.

What clearance does the 0.60" x 5.70" x 2.30" enclosure need beside the laptop USB-C port?

The 30cm tethered cable lets the 5.70" long body sit flat on the desk; no extra vertical clearance beyond the 0.60" height is required.

Does the 100W PD pass-through port need a separate charger to run dual 4K 60Hz?

Dual 4K 60Hz requires the host GPU to support DP 1.4 DSC; the dock passes up to 100W from an attached USB-C charger but does not generate video bandwidth itself.
