15.6-inch Touch Privacy Screen

The StarTech 156LTPRIVACYSCREEN is a 15.6-inch privacy filter designed for 16:9 touch displays. It narrows the viewing angle to plus or minus 30 degrees so on-screen content remains visible only to the person directly in front of the screen. An anti-glare coating reduces reflections while a blue-light filter cuts high-energy visible light. The filter attaches with supplied adhesive strips, mounting tabs or flip-up tabs for semi-permanent or removable installation.

Suited for touchscreen users needing visual privacy

This accessory suits professionals handling confidential data on 15.6-inch touch laptops or monitors in shared offices, travel or public spaces. Touch functionality is preserved through the filter surface. It is not intended for non-touch displays that require a different surface treatment, for screens with a different aspect ratio or diagonal size, or for users who need a wider viewing angle for collaborative work.

Fits 16:9 panels with included mounting options

The filter matches a 15.6-inch 16:9 panel and installs using the provided adhesive strips, mounting tabs or flip-up tabs. Flip-up tabs allow the filter to be lifted away quickly without removal. A plastic sleeve and wiping cloth are included for storage and cleaning. No external power, drivers or software are required, leaving all system resources free for other tasks.

Questions about this item

Does the 15.6-inch privacy screen need a specific laptop bezel width for the adhesive strips and mounting tabs to hold?

The kit includes adhesive strips, mounting tabs, flip-up tabs and a lifting tab so you can attach it to most flat 15.6-inch 16:9 bezels; clean the surface first for best adhesion.

Will the +/- 30-degree view angle still limit side visibility when the screen is flipped up against an older non-touch monitor?

Yes, the privacy layer remains effective at +/- 30 degrees whether the filter is flipped down for touch use or flipped up against a non-touch panel.

How can I verify the anti-glare and blue-light filter are working after I install the 156LTPRIVACYSCREEN?

View the screen from straight on — glare should be reduced and whites appear warmer — then move beyond 30 degrees left or right; content should become unreadable.
