What this switch does

The STARTECH C2-D46-UAC-CBL-KVM is a 2-port hybrid KVM switch that lets you control two computers from a single keyboard, mouse and display. It supports USB-A and USB-C host connections and delivers 4K video at 60 Hz. The unit weighs 1.0000 kg and was first listed by the manufacturer in September 2024.

Check your current setup

Verify that each computer you want to connect has either a USB-A or USB-C port available for the KVM cables. Confirm that your monitor accepts a 4K 60 Hz signal over DisplayPort. Ensure you have the correct cables for both host interfaces and that your operating systems support standard USB HID switching.

Replaces separate cables and switches

This KVM replaces the need for individual video cables and a separate USB switch when sharing one display and peripherals between two systems. The upgrade is worthwhile when you regularly move between a USB-A laptop and a USB-C workstation and want a single-button changeover without unplugging devices. It does not suit setups that require more than two connected hosts.

Questions about this item

Does the STARTECH C2-D46-UAC-CBL-KVM include both USB-A and USB-C cables, or must I purchase additional cables?

The unit is a hybrid USB-A/USB-C cable KVM switch, meaning the necessary cables are integrated into the device so no separate cables are required.

Should I choose this 2-port model or look for a version with more ports?

This specific model provides exactly two ports for controlling two computers; if you need to manage more systems you would require a different KVM switch with a higher port count.

What does the 4K 60Hz rating mean when I connect this KVM to my monitor?

It indicates the switch supports video resolutions up to 4K at a 60Hz refresh rate, allowing a compatible display to run at that resolution and frame rate through the device.
