Hybrid KVM for USB-C and USB-A hosts

This two-port KVM switch lets a USB-C laptop with DisplayPort Alt Mode and a USB-A desktop share one HDMI monitor, keyboard, mouse and audio set. It is built for users who dock a laptop at a desk already equipped with a desktop tower. Bus power draws from the connected hosts so no external supply is required.

Sustained 4K 60 Hz video switching

The HDMI output maintains a 4K 60 Hz signal while switching between hosts, avoiding the blank-to-black behaviour seen in basic switches. Independent audio routing through the downloadable software keeps playback continuous when the video source changes. The 1.5 m remote push button provides tactile switching without reaching behind the monitor.

Replaces separate dock and KVM setups

This unit consolidates a USB-C video adapter, a traditional KVM and a 3.5 mm headset adapter into one cable assembly. The jump is worthwhile when desk space is limited and both hosts need simultaneous peripheral access. It does not serve setups that require DisplayPort or USB-C monitor outputs, or configurations needing more than two connected computers.

Questions about this item

How much power does the C2-H46-UAC-CBL-KVM draw when I leave both computers running all day?

The switch is bus powered, so it takes whatever current the active host port can supply. No external adapter is required, and there is no separate power rating to manage.

Which cables or adapters must I already own to connect my desktop and laptop to this KVM?

None. The unit ships with built-in HDMI, USB-A, USB-C and 3.5 mm audio cables, plus a 3.5 mm headset adapter for desktops that lack a four-position jack.

Will my older HDMI monitor that only does 4K at 30 Hz work properly through this switch?

Yes. The switch supports 4K at 60 Hz, so a 30 Hz display will simply run at its native rate. The HDMI cable is integrated, so no extra cable is needed for the monitor.
