Black USB-C to DisplayPort bidirectional cable 6.6 ft

STARTECH

STARTECH CDP2DP2MBD 6.6 ft USB-C to DisplayPort 1.2 bidirectional cable 4K 60Hz Thunderbolt 3

SKU CH-M32V-6C96K MPN CDP2DP2MBD

Bidirectional USB-C to DisplayPort 1.2 cable carries 4K 60 Hz video and supports Thunderbolt 3 hosts

  • Bidirectional design connects USB-C to DisplayPort or DisplayPort to USB-C displays
  • 4K 60Hz resolution delivers sharp video for compatible monitors
  • Thunderbolt 3 compatibility extends use to supported laptops and docks
  • Driverless setup works across operating systems without extra software
  • Latching DisplayPort connector secures the link for reliable signal

Bidirectional USB-C to DisplayPort cable

This 6.6 ft cable carries video in either direction between a USB-C source and a DisplayPort display or a DisplayPort source and a USB-C monitor. It supports 4K at 60 Hz with HDR and HDCP 2.2 or 1.4 for protected content. The latching DisplayPort connector secures the link without driver installation on any operating system.

DisplayPort 1.2 bandwidth ceiling

The DisplayPort 1.2 interface limits the connection to 21.6 Gbps, which caps usable resolutions at 4K 60 Hz or 1080p at higher refresh rates. Thunderbolt 3 hosts are compatible but cannot exceed the cable's native DisplayPort throughput. HBR2 signalling is the maximum link rate the cable provides.

Bidirectional operation decides fit

Choose this cable only when you must switch between a USB-C laptop driving a DisplayPort screen and a DisplayPort desktop driving a USB-C monitor. Single-direction setups do not need the reversible design and can use a simpler adapter.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the USB-C to DisplayPort or DisplayPort to USB-C direction?

What does the 4K 60 Hz rating mean when I plug it in?

It delivers 4K video at 60 Hz with HDR and HDCP 2.2 or 1.4 over the DisplayPort 1.2 link

How does the DisplayPort 1.2 interface limit what I can run?

The 1.2 link caps bandwidth at 21.6 Gbps which supports 4K 60 Hz HDR but not higher refresh rates at that resolution
