Two-port DisplayPort 1.4 KVM switch supporting 8K at 60 Hz with USB 3.2 Gen 1 peripheral sharing
This StarTech KVM switch lets you control two computers with one DisplayPort monitor, keyboard and mouse. It supports 8K resolution at 60 Hz for sharp visuals across both connected systems. The USB 3.2 Gen 1 hub shares peripherals and storage between the two hosts. It is built for professionals who need reliable multi-computer access at high resolutions.
The DisplayPort 1.4 interface caps video output at 8K 60 Hz, so higher refresh rates at this resolution are not possible. USB 3.2 Gen 1 provides up to 5 Gbps for peripheral data, which limits transfer speed for external drives. Hotkey switching works only with compatible keyboards and may not function with specialised gaming models. TAA compliance suits government procurement but does not affect technical performance.
This unit upgrades from older 4K 60 Hz KVM switches when 8K displays enter the workflow. It also removes the latency and driver dependence of software-based mouse and keyboard sharing. The jump is worth it when two workstations must share a single 8K monitor and USB 3.2 Gen 1 peripherals without signal degradation. It does not suit setups needing more than two ports or higher USB throughput.

This model provides exactly two DisplayPort 1.4 inputs and two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, so it matches a dual-system desk without unused connections.
It means the switch passes DisplayPort 1.4 signals at up to 8K resolution and 60 Hz refresh rate to the connected monitor.
It uses DisplayPort 1.4, which caps the video path at 8K 60Hz and the USB path at USB 3.2 Gen 1 speeds.
