The StarTech DK30CH2DPPD connects a USB-C laptop to three external 4K monitors using two DisplayPort outputs at 60 Hz and one HDMI output at 30 Hz. It adds five USB 3.0 ports, a Gigabit Ethernet jack and a 3.5 mm audio combo jack. Compatible with Windows 7 through 10 and Mac OS 10.11 to 10.12, it also works with USB 3.0 laptops via a USB-C to USB-A cable.

Installation and Common Issues

Setup requires installing DisplayLink drivers on the host before connecting the first monitor; without them the DisplayPort outputs will not activate. Mac OS 10.11 to 10.12 support is limited to those versions, so newer macOS releases are not supported. The HDMI port is capped at 30 Hz at 4K, which may affect motion clarity. A USB-C to USB-A cable is needed for USB 3.0 laptops and is not included.
