LC Single-Mode Loopback Plug

This StarTech loopback plug provides a single-mode LC/UPC connection for testing fiber links. It uses a 9/125 µm fiber core and presents a 0 dB attenuation path. The adapter allows technicians to verify transceiver ports and cable runs without a second endpoint. It is built for bench and field qualification of optical networks.

For fiber installers and network engineers

Technicians who need a quick way to loop an LC port for continuity or power measurements will find this plug suitable. Buyers who require multi-mode compatibility or a defined attenuation value other than 0 dB should look at alternative loopback devices. Those needing SC, ST or MTP connectors must select a different adapter.

Questions about this item

How do I verify the 0dB LC loopback plug is working correctly after connecting it?

Connect the plug to the LC port, then run a light-source and power-meter test; a reading at or near 0dB insertion loss confirms the single-mode 9/125 loopback is functioning as intended.

What comes in the package and do I need any extra cables or adapters?

The box contains the StarTech LC/UPC single-mode loopback plug only; no patch cords, cleaning supplies or test equipment are included and must be sourced separately.
