STARTECH

STARTECH MPO Loopback Plug Single Mode 9/125 12-Fibre Optic Cable

SKU CH-4NTQ-BW7MR

Single-mode MPO loopback plug with 12 fibres at 125 microns for optical link testing

  • Single-mode 9/125 µm fibre ensures low-loss signal return for accurate link testing
  • 12-fibre MPO connector loops all channels simultaneously to verify full cable assemblies
  • Female MPO interface mates directly with patch cords or transceivers for quick diagnostics
  • Passive loopback design requires no power source, enabling portable fibre network validation

Single-Mode 12-Fibre Loopback Plug

The STARTECH MPO loopback plug provides a 12-fibre single-mode 9/125 return path for testing MPO or MTP female ports. It suits network technicians who need a compact, passive tool to verify continuity or polarity in live or staged fibre links.

Female MPO/MTP Adapter Format

The plug mates directly with female MPO or MTP connectors so no patch cords or extra adapters are required. This simplifies loopback testing in dense panels and reduces the number of components a technician must carry.

Questions about this item

How many fibres will need inspection or cleaning when I maintain this loopback plug?

The plug contains 12 fibres in a single MPO connector, so all 12 should be inspected and cleaned together during routine maintenance.

What insertion-loss limit will I hit first when running continuous loopback tests?

Single-mode 9/125 fibre typically reaches its insertion-loss budget before the MPO connector housing shows wear, so the fibre link budget is the first limiting factor.
