This StarTech.com POEEXT1G60W extends a power sourcing equipment signal up to 100 metres over Cat 5e or Cat 6 cabling. It delivers auto-negotiated 15, 30 or 60 watt output to cameras, access points and other powered devices. Up to four units can be cascaded for a 400 metre total reach. The rugged black enclosure suits industrial and commercial deployments.

Thermals noise and power

The extender draws only 2.7 watts for its own operation while passing up to 95 watts from the PSE source. It operates silently with no moving parts across a temperature range of minus 40 to 75 degrees Celsius. Humidity tolerance spans 5 to 95 percent non-condensing for harsh environments. No external power supply is required because the unit is powered entirely through the incoming PoE link.

Build integration

Connect the RJ45 PD In port to the upstream PSE and the RJ45 PSE Out port to the target device for immediate gigabit data and power extension. The compact 1.30 by 3.20 by 4.10 inch form factor fits tight enclosures and weighs 0.20 lb. It supports IEEE 802.3af, 802.3at and 802.3bt standards plus 9K jumbo frames.
