Drop-in install with MSA compliance

The module follows the Multi-Source Agreement form factor, so it slides into any compliant SFP cage without tools or software configuration. The only common issue is inserting the transceiver into a port that does not support 1000BASE-TX signalling, which will prevent the link from coming up.

Verify cage and cable before ordering

Confirm the host equipment lists 1000BASE-TX or 1000BASE-T compatibility for its SFP ports, because not all Gigabit SFP cages accept copper transceivers. Also ensure the installed cabling is Cat5e or better and that the run stays within the 100 metre limit.
