This 30-foot active cable connects USB 2.0 peripherals such as printers, scanners or external drives to a host computer. The built-in equalising chip compensates for signal loss over the 9-metre run, keeping the link stable at the full 480 Mbit/s rate. It is suited to home offices, classrooms or light-industrial setups where the device must sit far from the PC.

Male-to-male layout with 28 AWG conductors

The cable terminates in a standard USB-A plug at the host end and a USB-B plug at the device end, both male, so it slots directly into existing ports without adapters. Its 28 AWG wiring and PVC jacket are rated for the USB 2.0 current draw, meaning no external power brick is required. The active circuitry is housed inside the connector shells, leaving the usable workspace clear.

Sustained throughput at the full 480 Mbit/s

Because the signal is regenerated at the far end, the cable maintains USB 2.0 high-speed signalling across the entire 30-foot span without the drop-outs seen on passive leads of this length. It therefore supports long print jobs, bulk file transfers or continuous scanner operation without renegotiating to a lower speed. The active design does not add latency that would affect typical peripheral workloads.
