Dual-Port Car Charger 24W

The STARTECH USB2PCARBKS is a black car charger with two USB Type-A ports that share up to 24 watts and 4.8 amps total. It supports USB Battery Charging Specification 1.2 so each device draws up to 2.4 amps at 5 volts DC. The compact adapter measures 1.00 by 1.50 by 3.00 inches and weighs 0.90 oz.

Commuters charging two tablets or phones

Drivers who need to keep two tablets or phones powered on long journeys will find the shared 4.8 amp output useful. Users whose devices require higher-voltage standards such as USB Power Delivery or Quick Charge will not get the faster charging speeds those protocols provide. Buyers needing more than two ports should look at a different solution.

Shared 4.8 amp output decides fit

The single specification that determines suitability is the combined 4.8 amp limit across both ports. If the two devices together demand more current the charger will split the available power and each device will charge more slowly. Match the total draw of your devices to this 4.8 amp ceiling before buying.

Questions about this item

Does the package include any charging cables, or do I need to supply my own USB Type-A cables?

The charger provides two USB 2.0 Type-A female ports; cables are not included and must be purchased separately.

Is the 4.8 A total output split evenly so each port always delivers 2.4 A?

The 24 W (4.8 A) is shared dynamically; each port can supply up to 2.4 A, but the combined draw cannot exceed 4.8 A.

Will this adapter fast-charge a tablet that only supports the USB Battery Charging 1.2 specification?

Yes, the charger supports the USB Battery Charging 1.2 specification, so compatible tablets will charge at up to 2.4 A per port.
