What this mouse is and who it suits

The SteelSeries Rival 3 Wireless Gen 2 is a lavender gaming mouse built for players who value cable-free freedom. It connects via 2.4GHz wireless or Bluetooth so you can switch between a gaming rig and other devices. The TrueMove Air optical sensor delivers 18000 DPI precision for accurate tracking in fast-paced titles.

Capacity and headroom

Seven programmable buttons give you enough inputs for core commands and macros without overwhelming the layout. The sensor tops out at 18000 DPI, providing ample headroom for high-sensitivity play, while the 1.9 ms click latency keeps responses sharp. Battery life reaches 200 hours on 2.4GHz and 450 hours on Bluetooth using a single AAA cell.

What it upgrades and when to switch

This model replaces a wired or entry-level wireless mouse when you need dual-mode connectivity and longer battery endurance. The 60 million click durability rating means the switches stay crisp through heavy use. It is not for buyers who want a rechargeable internal battery, adjustable weight system, or more than seven buttons.

Questions about this item

Will the 2.4 GHz dongle and Bluetooth pairing work with my older laptop that only has USB-A ports?

The mouse includes a USB-A 2.4 GHz receiver for low-latency gaming and also supports Bluetooth for broader device compatibility.

How can I verify the 1.9 ms click latency and 18000 DPI sensor are active after setup?

Use SteelSeries GG software to confirm the polling rate, adjust DPI up to 18000, and test click response in the built-in diagnostic tool.

Does the box contain the AAA battery and USB dongle, or must I buy them separately?

The package includes the 2.4 GHz USB receiver; a single AAA battery is required for operation and is not supplied.
