Multi-Genre Wired Mouse

The SteelSeries Rival 5 is a right-handed wired gaming mouse built for players across Battle Royale, FPS, MOBA and MMO titles. Its TrueMove Air optical sensor delivers 18000 CPI tracking with 49G acceleration and true 1-to-1 precision. Weighing 85g, it suits palm and claw grips for extended sessions.

9 Programmable Buttons & Software

Nine programmable buttons include five quick-action side buttons for macros or ability binds. Golden Micro IP54 switches are rated for 60 million clicks, while the Super Mesh cable and pure PTFE feet reduce drag. SteelSeries Engine 3.15.1+ enables RGB customisation, CPI steps of 100, and button remapping on Windows, Mac, Linux and Xbox.

Capacity & Headroom

The 18000 CPI ceiling covers low-sensitivity arm aimers and high-sensitivity wrist players alike. Switch durability of 80 million clicks provides long-term headroom for heavy click-intensive genres. It lacks wireless freedom, onboard profile storage without software, and left-handed ergonomics, so buyers needing those should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

When will the Golden Micro IP54 switches need replacement after 60 million clicks?

The Golden Micro IP54 switches are rated for 60 million clicks; after that point the left or right button may start to double-click or miss clicks, so plan a mouse replacement around that milestone.

What limits continuous high-CPI tracking during long sessions?

The TrueMove Air sensor tops out at 18000 CPI with 49G acceleration; sustained swipes at that ceiling can hit the sensor's maximum tracking speed before any thermal throttle appears.

How warm does the chassis get and how loud is the cable drag after hours of play?

The 85g matte-black shell stays near room temperature because the wired design has no battery heat, and the Super Mesh braided cable produces only a faint rustle on a cloth pad.
