STEINER 538 Transparent Vinyl Welding Screen

The STEINER 538 welding screen provides a transparent vinyl barrier measuring 8 ft wide by 6 ft high. It uses a 13 oz/sq yd material that weighs .36 mm thick. The orange tinted screen lets supervisors monitor work while containing spatter. A 3/4 in tube frame with grommets supports the panel.

Workshops needing visible containment

This screen suits facilities that require a see-through shield meeting California Fire Marshal standards. The abrasion resistant and rust resistant vinyl withstands temperatures up to 150 Degrees F. Buyers who need an opaque curtain or a smaller portable panel should look at something else.

13 oz/sq yd vinyl weight and .36 mm thickness

The single specification that decides fit is the 13 oz/sq yd vinyl weight combined with a .36 mm thickness. This density governs durability against spatter and tear resistance on the frame. Verify that these figures match your safety requirements before purchase.

Questions about this item

Will the 13 oz/sq yd vinyl screen hold up next to my existing 3/4 in tube frame?

The screen uses grommets designed for a 3/4 in tube frame, so it attaches directly to that size without modification.

How can I confirm the orange tinted transparent material is filtering light correctly after hanging it?

The vinyl meets California Fire Marshal standards and is rated to 150 degrees F, so proper flame resistance and temperature tolerance indicate it is functioning as specified.

Does the 8 ft by 6 ft screen come with the tube frame or only the vinyl panel with grommets?

The product is the vinyl screen panel with grommets; the 3/4 in tube frame is not included and must be sourced separately.
