Professional 73-Key MIDI Controller

The StudioLogic SL73 MK2 is a professional 73-key MIDI controller built for pianists and studio creators who demand an authentic piano feel and deep software integration. It features a Fatar TP/110 graded hammer-action keybed with aftertouch and adjustable velocity response. Full MIDI 2.0 support provides higher-resolution control over performance data. A built-in USB audio interface and SL Link technology enable seamless control of Numa Player and DAW transport functions.

Suits players needing hammer action

This controller suits keyboardists who want a realistic weighted keybed combined with a built-in audio interface for a compact studio centrepiece. It is ideal for performers relying on MIDI 2.0 resolution and direct DAW transport control. Buyers who need a lighter synth-action keybed or require traditional 5-pin DIN MIDI connectivity should look at alternative controllers.

Fatar TP/110 hammer-action keybed with aftertouch

The Fatar TP/110 mechanism delivers graded hammer action across all 73 keys, providing the weighted resistance and expressive aftertouch essential for authentic piano performance. Adjustable velocity curves let players tailor the response to their touch. This keybed specification is the primary factor in deciding whether the instrument meets your playing requirements.

Questions about this item

Does the 73-key hammer-action keybed fit on a standard keyboard stand?

The Fatar TP/110 graded hammer-action keybed is a full-size 73-key unit; check your stand’s width and weight rating to ensure it supports the controller’s length and mass.

How do I enable MIDI 2.0 on the SL73 MK2, and what step is often missed?

Connect via the USB-C port, update the firmware to the latest version, then activate MIDI 2.0 in the global settings; many users forget the firmware update and stay on MIDI 1.0.

When will the aftertouch mechanism or expression sticks need servicing?

The aftertouch and dual programmable expression sticks are solid-state with no user-serviceable parts; if response becomes uneven, contact an authorised Fatar/Studiologic technician for inspection.
