Panoramic Levelling Base 10 kg

The Sunwayfoto LB-68R is an aluminium levelling base designed for panoramic photography and video work. It mounts between a tripod and a head, providing up to ±15° of tilt correction so the platform can be levelled on uneven ground. The unit supports a maximum load of 10 kg while weighing only 284 g.

Tripod Mount and Clearance Check

Verify that your tripod accepts a 3/8"-16 mounting stud and that the 60 mm base diameter fits the tripod's apex. The levelling base adds 50 mm of height, so confirm the extra stack height suits your shooting position. Ensure the 68 mm platform diameter matches the footprint of the head or quick-release clamp you intend to place on top.

Integrated Panning and Damping

A 360° panning base with a 3/8"-16 stud sits on top of the levelling mechanism, allowing smooth horizontal rotation without a separate panning head. Professional damping oil inside the hemisphere joint gives consistent resistance during adjustment. The low 50 mm profile keeps the centre of gravity close to the tripod for added stability.

Questions about this item

Does the LB-68R ship with a mounting plate, or must I buy one separately?

The LB-68R includes a 3/8‑16 top stud for direct attachment; no separate plate is required unless your camera uses a different thread.

Which load‑capacity figure should I trust — the 10 kg or the 22 lb rating?

Both refer to the same 10 kg maximum load; the 22 lb value is the imperial equivalent shown in the supplier title.

How does the ±15° tilt range affect real‑world leveling on uneven ground?

The ±15° tilt lets the 39 mm high base compensate for moderate slopes, keeping the panning platform level for panoramic stitching.
