5U rackmount/tower barebone supports AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO CPUs, up to 2TB DDR4-3200 ECC, six PCI-E 4.0 x16 slots, four M.2 and six SATA bays
The Supermicro AS-5014A-TT is a new 5U rackmount tower barebone designed for AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5000WX and 3000WX series processors. It uses a single Socket sWRX8 and provides eight 288-pin DDR4 3200 channels supporting up to 2TB of registered ECC memory. No CPU, memory or storage is installed.
This platform suits professionals who need 64 cores, eight-channel memory bandwidth and six PCI-E 4.0 x16 slots for GPUs or accelerators. Builders who need a small-form-factor chassis, integrated graphics or pre-installed components should look elsewhere. The barebone state also requires separate sourcing of processor, memory modules and drives.
Under continuous load the system relies on four internal 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch SATA bays plus two front 2.5-inch bays and four M.2 2280 or 22110 slots for storage throughput. Networking uses a 10GBase-T port and a 1GbE port shared with IPMI. Six full-length PCI-E 4.0 x16 slots maintain bandwidth for long compute or render sessions.
