Portable 4-band AM FM SW1 SW2 radio

The Supersonic SC-1091 receives AM, FM and two shortwave bands through a PLL tuner with a digital LCD display. It includes a clock and alarm function, a built-in speaker and a telescopic antenna for signal capture. A foldable handle makes it easy to carry between rooms or outdoors.

Power options limit continuous use

The radio runs from an AC adapter or two D-size batteries which are not supplied. Battery life depends on volume level and reception conditions, so extended portable listening may require frequent cell changes. There is no internal rechargeable pack or USB charging capability.

10 watt audio output defines room coverage

The amplifier delivers 10 watts into the integrated speaker, which suits personal listening or small rooms. Larger spaces or noisy environments will find the volume insufficient. Buyers needing louder sound for gatherings or workshop use should consider a separate powered speaker system.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the SC-1091 with AC adapter or the battery-only version?

The SC-1091 runs on both the included AC adapter and two D batteries, so there is no separate battery-only model to choose.

What does the 10-watt output mean for everyday listening?

Ten watts drives the built-in speaker loud enough for a kitchen, workshop or campsite without distortion at normal volume levels.

Which tuning standard does the PLL radio use and what stations can it actually receive?

Phase-locked loop tuning locks onto AM, FM and shortwave SW1-2 bands, giving stable reception across all four broadcast ranges.
