Portable 4-Band Radio

The Supersonic SC-1091 receives AM, FM and two shortwave bands in a compact silver chassis. A foldable handle and telescopic antenna make it practical for travel or home use. The digital LCD shows the station and doubles as a clock display.

Analogue Reception Limits

Signal quality depends on local transmitter strength and atmospheric conditions for shortwave bands. The telescopic antenna must be extended for best results and cannot be replaced with an external connector. No digital tuning standards such as DAB+ are supported.

Single Alarm Function

One programmable alarm wakes the user to the radio or a buzzer through the built-in speaker. Buyers needing multiple daily alarms or a sleep-timer will not find those features here. The unit is powered by standard batteries not included in the package.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the SC-1091 over a single-band radio for travel?

The SC-1091 covers AM, FM and two shortwave bands in one unit, so you can receive local and international stations without carrying multiple radios.

How does the PLL tuning help when I am moving between cities?

Phase-locked loop tuning locks onto each frequency precisely, reducing drift and making it easier to keep a station clear while you travel.

What does the telescopic antenna add for shortwave reception?

Extending the telescopic antenna improves signal capture on the SW1 and SW2 bands, especially for weaker distant stations.
