Compact 3.97" HD Projector

The SUPERSONIC SC-82P is a portable home theater projector with a native resolution of 1280 x 720. It accepts input signals up to 1080p and down to 480i through its HDMI connection. Bluetooth 5.0 lets you pair external sound bars or speakers wirelessly for audio output. This unit suits buyers wanting a small projector for casual movies or gaming.

Brightness Limits in Lit Rooms

The light source is rated at 7000 Lumina with a white light output of 160 lumens. The supplier also states a brightness figure greater than 3500 lumens. In practice, the 160-lumen white output means the image will look washed out unless the room is quite dark. Daytime viewing or well-lit living rooms will reduce perceived contrast and color saturation noticeably.

Check Input Sources and Audio Plan

Verify that your video sources can output one of the supported formats: 1080p, 1080i, 720p, 576i, 480p or 480i over HDMI. The built-in speaker is basic; plan to connect a Bluetooth 5.0 sound bar or speaker for better sound. Ensure you have a suitable projection surface and a darkened space for the best experience.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the SC-82P with its native 1280 x 720 resolution or look for a model that lists 1080p native?

The SC-82P has a native panel of 1280 x 720 pixels; it accepts 1080p and 1080i signals over HDMI and scales them down to that native grid.

The box says 7000 Lumina but the specs also show 160 lumens white light — which one will I actually see on the wall?

The 160 lumens white light output is the measured ANSI-style brightness you will see on screen; the 7000 Lumina figure is a marketing LED-lamp rating and not a projected-lumen measurement.

What does Bluetooth 5.0 on this projector actually let me connect?

Bluetooth 5.0 pairs the projector wirelessly with sound bars or speakers for audio output only; it does not carry video or support file transfer.
