  • 1700 W output powers demanding HP Z8 G4 workstations
  • 1450 W model DPS-1450A matches original part 851385-001
  • New condition ensures full rated performance from first use
  • Single unit replaces the factory supply without modification

Designed for HP Z8 G4 workstations

This 1700 W server power supply carries part number 851385-001 and model DPS-1450A. It is a direct replacement unit built for the HP Z8 G4 platform. Buyers needing a different form factor or a lower-wattage unit should look elsewhere.

Thermals noise and power draw

The supply delivers up to 1700 W of continuous power for demanding workstation loads. Internal fan speed scales with temperature to manage thermals under heavy use. Acoustic output rises with load but remains within typical server limits. Efficiency meets the requirements of the original HP specification.

Questions about this item

How is the 1700W DPS-1450A installed in the HP Z8 G4, and what step is often missed?

Slide the unit into the chassis bay until the latch clicks, then press the release lever fully to lock it; the step often missed is not engaging the lever completely, leaving the supply unseated.

What maintenance or replacement will the 1700W DPS-1450A need later?

The internal fan is the only serviceable part; clean dust from the intake vents every six months and replace the fan assembly if bearing noise appears.
