Compatible EMC 2200W SPS Battery

This replacement battery fits EMC part numbers 078-000-086 and 078-000-049 for 2200W server power supplies. It restores backup power capability to compatible SPS units. System administrators maintaining EMC infrastructure use this module to ensure continuous operation during mains interruptions. The unit is supplied new and ready for installation.

Thermals Noise and Power Draw

The battery operates passively within the host power supply enclosure without adding active cooling requirements. It draws charging current only during replenishment cycles after a discharge event. Acoustic output remains unchanged because the module has no moving parts. Thermal contribution is negligible compared to the main supply workload.

Questions about this item

How do I install the Supersuperuncle 100-809-008 into the EMC 078-000-086 SPS, and which orientation step is often missed?

Slide the 100-809-008 into the SPS bay until the latch clicks, ensuring the connector side faces the rear; the keyed notch only mates one way, so forcing it backwards bends pins.

What replacement interval should I plan for the 2200W SPS battery 100-809-008 in a 078-000-049 unit?

Replace the 100-809-008 every three to five years or when the SPS management controller logs a capacity fault; hot-swap support lets you swap it without powering down the array.
