ForSUN 300-2235 server power supply

This 1200W ForSUN unit carries part number 300-2235 and model AWF-2DC-1200W-S. It is built as a direct replacement for compatible Sun and Oracle server chassis. System administrators maintaining X4270 M2, T5240 or T3/T4-1 platforms can install it without modification. Buyers who need a different wattage or form factor should verify their specific chassis requirements first.

Thermals noise and power draw

The supply delivers up to 1200W of rated output for the supported server models. Internal fan speed ramps with load to maintain safe operating temperatures inside the rack. Acoustic output is typical for a 1U or 2U redundant server supply under normal datacentre conditions. No separate efficiency curve or idle power figure is provided by the manufacturer.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 300-2235 AWF-2DC-1200W-S into an X4270 M2 server and which step is often missed?

Slide the unit firmly into the chassis bay until the 249 connector seats fully, then secure the retention latch; the step most often missed is engaging that latch completely.

What maintenance or replacement will the 1200W power supply need during the life of a T5240 system?

Plan to clean the internal fan intake every six months and replace the unit if the 300-2235 model shows voltage drift or audible bearing noise.
