Dell PE6850 Redundant Power Supply

This 1470 watt unit is built as a direct replacement for the Dell PowerEdge 6850 server. It delivers 12 volts at 121 amps through a redundant hot-swap design that keeps the system running if one module fails. The supply targets administrators maintaining legacy Dell rackmount infrastructure.

Hot-swap installation fits Dell 6850 bays

The module slides into the chassis without tools and locks with a built-in latch. Alignment pins must seat fully before the lever engages or the server will not recognise the unit. A common issue is dust on the connector fingers causing a false fault light after insertion.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the 12 V rail is delivering the rated 121 A after installing the supply in my Dell PE6850?

The unit shows a green status LED on the rear when the 12 V output is within spec; you can also read the 12 V current value through the server iDRAC or front-panel LCD.

Does the redundant power supply include the Dell PE6850 hot-plug cage or must I source that separately?

Only the 1470 W power supply module is supplied; the matching hot-plug cage and any required cables remain in the chassis and are not included.
