Dell SC430/SC440 Replacement PSU

This new server power supply is built specifically for the Dell SC430 and SC440 platforms. It serves as a direct replacement for the original K8958 unit installed in those systems. System administrators maintaining legacy Dell tower servers will find it matches the required form factor and connector layout. It is not suited for builders working on standard ATX chassis or proprietary rackmount units from other vendors.

Rated for the original Dell SC430

The unit delivers the wattage Dell specified for these models, supporting the processors, memory configurations and drive complements those servers were designed to host. Headroom aligns with the factory load profile, so typical multi-drive or dual-CPU setups run within limits. Configurations that exceed the original chassis specifications — such as high-wattage GPU add-in cards or large RAID arrays — will exceed the available capacity.

Questions about this item

Will this K8958 power supply fit my older Dell SC430 chassis?

The unit is listed as compatible with both the SC430 and SC440 models, so it matches the older chassis.

How can I verify the K8958 is delivering power correctly once installed?

The server should complete POST and remain stable under load; any failure to boot or sudden shutdowns indicate a power issue.
