1200W replacement for HP DL580 G8 G9

This new 1200W server power supply matches the DPS-1200SB A form factor used in HP DL580 G8 and G9 systems. It carries part numbers 643933-001 and 660185-001 for direct identification. The unit slots into the existing hot-plug bay without modification.

Replaces a failed or degraded DPS-1200SB A unit

Install this supply when the original module fails, shows unstable voltages or cannot sustain the rated 1200W load under peak demand. The jump is worth it if the server must stay in service and a compatible spare is required immediately. It is not for builders adapting the supply to non-HP chassis or proprietary pin-outs.

Questions about this item

Will the DPS-1200SB A unit slide into the existing bay of an HP DL580 G8 or G9 without brackets?

Yes, the DPS-1200SB A is built to the same form factor as the original 643933-001 and 660185-001 units, so it fits the native power-supply bay of the DL580 G8 and G9 with no extra brackets.

What is the common installation mistake when seating this supply in a DL580 G8 or G9?

The latch must be pushed until it clicks; many installers stop when they feel resistance and leave the connector partially mated, which causes the server to report a power-supply fault.
