Magnetic MICR Toner for Check Printing

This SuppliesMax cartridge supplies magnetic black toner formulated for secure check and barcode output. It replaces the Unisys 81-6404-999-MICR original and fits Unisys UDS-640-N11 and UDS-650-N11 laser printers. The extra-high-yield design supports high-volume banking and financial workflows.

Thermal and Power Behaviour in Normal Use

The toner operates inside supported 110 V U.S.-based printers without additional power draw or cooling requirements. Magnetic particles fuse at standard laser-engine temperatures, so the cartridge adds no measurable heat or acoustic load beyond the printer’s normal cycle.

Build Integration and Constraints

Installation follows the OEM cartridge path, freeing the operator from alignment steps or firmware overrides. The single-pack format suits offices that run one printer per teller station. It is not for colour printing, photo work, or printers outside the listed Unisys models.

Questions about this item

How do I install this cartridge in a Unisys UDS-640-N11, and what step do people often miss?

Open the printer, remove the old cartridge, shake the new SuppliesMax 81-6404-999-MICR gently to distribute the magnetic toner, then insert it until it clicks. People often forget to shake it first, which can cause faint MICR lines on the first cheques.

What maintenance or replacement will this toner cartridge need after extended use?

The cartridge itself is a single-use supply rated for 36000 pages at 5% coverage. Once the toner is depleted, replace the whole cartridge. No separate drum or developer unit replacement is mentioned for this model.

What limit appears first during continuous high-volume check printing with this cartridge?

The 36000-page yield at 5% coverage is the primary limit. Heavy MICR coverage on cheques can reduce actual page count, so monitor print density and replace the cartridge when output fades or the printer signals low toner.
