What it is and who uses it

SuppliesMax 8989-MICR is a compatible black toner cartridge with magnetic toner for secure check and barcode printing. It replaces Savin 8989-MICR and fits Savin SP-3500 and SP-3510 series printers. Businesses needing bank-compliant output at 6400 pages per cartridge will use it.

Sustained print behaviour

At 5% coverage the cartridge delivers up to 6400 pages before replacement. Magnetic toner maintains consistent signal strength across long runs so MICR read rates stay within banking tolerances. The formulation is manufactured to OEM specifications for reliable feeding and sharp text over the full yield.

The deciding spec

MICR toner is the single specification that determines fit; standard toner will not pass bank verification. This cartridge does not work in Savin 3400 or 3410 series printers, so buyers with those models must choose a different part.

Questions about this item

How much power does the 8989-MICR cartridge draw during continuous printing on a 110 V Savin SP-3500 series printer?

The cartridge itself has no power draw; the Savin SP-3500 or SP-3510 printer handles all heating and fusing at 110 V.

Which Savin printer models must I already own for this MICR toner to work?

It fits Savin SP-3500N, SP-3500SF, SP-3510DN, SP-3510SF and the other SP-3500/SP-3510 variants listed, but not the SP-3400 or SP-3410 series.

Will the magnetic toner damage drums or fusers in older Savin SP-3400 machines I still use?

The cartridge is physically incompatible with SP-3400 and SP-3410 printers, so it cannot be installed in those older machines.
